    The Meiji Empire
The Meiji Empire is a cathetral of great cats who have been casted out from past clans or are rogues and kittypets who have given their complete loyalty to the empire. This empire is the descendants of the great Egyptian goddess Bast, or have been blessed by the cat goddess with the strength and courage to join this empire. The empire's path is being paved by their leader, a tom who had mysteriously appeared and began gathering cats. It is unknown where he came from, who he really is (for it is said he is cursed), and what his true idenity is. As the Meiji Empire's legend unfolds, you will shape it.

As the first rays of bright dawnlight made their way through the clouds, a tom was sitting, staring down upon his empire. His face of course was hidden in shadow, and he had made it an official rule that no one would look upon his cursed face. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath of fresh air, no one knew what he looked like, or his age. He was a mystery, and he preferred to keep it that way. No matter, he is the Emperor of the Meiji Empire, and he would protect it with his life. He opened his eyes as he thought, 'I wonder where Yuki is?' Since he had appointed her as Empress, he didn't hold any emotions for the she-cat, at least not yet. Besides, he thought of her as an assistant to help him keep the empire in check. As the wind ruffled his fur, he looked up upon the dawn skies, his face briefly, eagerly enjoying the faintest rays of sunlight he would drink in before he had to return to darkness.

Oni glanced over to Yuki, there was no amusement tethered within his eyes. Of course; his face and body was shadowed in darkness as he mumured in his silken velvet voice, "Of course." His gaze slid away from her upon the empire, his fur ruffled in the breeze, he closed his eyes letting his mind wander for a few seconds. He commonly did this everyday before he started his duties for the day.
'He was in the ThunderClan forest again; the soft hiss of the dark green leaves, signalling newleaf was arriving.
    "Bloodshatter!"
His head turned towards the beautiful she-cat approaching him, her pawsteps light upon the ground, her eyes bright violet, soft and so very peaceful. "Nightlily, I thought you were at camp?" She purred in amusement as she flickered her tail over his shoulder, her laughter brighting happiness to his soul. "The queens barely even let me get past them." He growled playfully in her ear, "And they should've, you know I can just chase you back to camp." Nightlily's eyes gleamed with laughter for a few moments as she gazed upon his face with so much affection, she leaned her head upon his chest, "I love you Bloodshatter..."

Oni's eyes opened quickly, he frowned at his mind wandering in that direction. He strikly cut himself off from that part himself long ago. He closed his eyes as he let himself relish the faint rays of those happy memories, the day, the last day Nightlily was alive. Oni stood to his paws, unable to just stay in one spot without feeling the wrenching pain of his past, "Come, we have work to do." He padded down the temple steps, not waiting to see if Yuki was following or not.

Oni paused when Auxin approached, the tom's voice as ever the silken voice, "Greetings to you as well Auxin." Oni's eyes narrowed faintly, he had gottened used to cats not looking directly at him moons ago... but it never ceased to bother him. 'I should be used to it by now, it is all for their safety... Oni's tail twitched as he quickly regained his reserved and still composure.

OOC: Sorry I was doing homework and my computer wouldn't work for awhile
IC: Oni's dark gaze slid between Yuki and Auxin, though he didn't allow anyone to look upon his face, the intensity of his gaze still felt like pressure. Finally he turned his head away, tail twitching in indifference, "Come as you may Auxin." His voice was of course monotone and as cold as ever, there was no hint of any emotion at all in his posture or movements. He continued his way down to the pale sunlight. Though Oni almost did flinch back, he supressed it and continued forward. The sunlight played across his fur, his fur was smooth and a mix of colors of brown and tan which was hard to desipher what his pelt color would actually be. But, there was one mark upon his body that was a price from a victory. A long scar, upon the base of his neck to his left hip, a trophey of a scar that anyone could have. The only way cats could look at him without looking directly at his face was either below his chin or from behind. His long tail swayed behind him as his muscles rippled smoothly underneath his pelt. But his facial expression was grim; not that anyone would know of course.

Oni kept his gaze ahead; though the tom seemed as constant and unaffected by anything, a strong, constant presence, he felt the pain and agony of his past weighing down upon him every second of the day. The guilty pleasure of when he participated in battles, the crushing, breaking feeling of his soul shattering when his beloved Nightlily perished along with their unborn kit, along with any hope of him having a family or a normal life. His gaze lowered to the ground as he continued forward. The errors of his past could never be undone, nor could he fix the error of his family long ago.

Oni's gaze remained directly ahead, ignoring some cats stepping out of his way in nervousment,he was heading to the east side of the central camp where the boundary was being strnegthened; besides, you can never be too careful anyways. His paws trodded silently over the ground as he walked in authority, and a cold demenor.

Oni came towards the boundary, already the wall of various sticks, stones, and mud was already proving to be a formidible defense. His eyes focused upon the cats who were working on the massive structure, he felt the silence grab hold of the cats as he heard him coming. He approached the structure of a wall and glanced around him towards his subjecs who were looking anywhere but him. Grim approval lined his face as he looked at the process that the cats have made, they were fairly fr into building the wall, in a couple more days the section of the wall would be complete.

"You know fairly well that I don't share information lightly Yuki, I only trust you as far as an assistant at my side yes, but nothing more, do you understand?" He made sure he said this in a hushed whisper, making sure he was appearing like he was replying back to her but more relaxed, but his voice was like edges of a cold blade. His tail flicked as he continued on in the harsh voice, "I only choose to share was is nessecary, my feelings are not." He raised his head and turned away with the commanding and noble air he always had around himself, walking away from the boundary seeing that it was coming along good.

'I have no regrets. I have no regrets...' Repeating this over and over seemed to cool his pent up emotions and shoved them down, yet there was a constant nagging. He winced as he continued his way through the empire, he suddenly felt exhausted, not physically; no, but mentally, he was beaten. Heading back to the temple, he passed by a cat without a second glance, burning guilt flooding throughout him; he looked down at the ground as he reached the temple and retreated back into the den, darkness seemed to cloak around him, soothing him. He crouched down in a corner, shoulders hunched over, eyes dimmed and focused upon the floor.

OOC: I'm going to add on another character well it's going to be a minor character that doesn't appear much, and she'll be Nightlily's mother. :3

    Name: Thistlefang
    Gender: Female
    Age: 96 moons
    Rank: Elder
Personality: She is a rather very stubborn and irritable cat; turning bitter and very grumpy over the years she had been alive; she holds a certain distrust and slight hatred for Oni and always seems to want to get underneath his pelt which due to this causes a lot of fights between the emperor and her. Though she may seem a dislikable cat for those who favor the emperor, she is very kind and somewhat sacastic when she begins to trust you. She simply adores little kits and always seems sadden as if she was remembering the death of her own kit.
    Crush: N/A
    Mate: Pantherstripe (Deceased)
    Kits: Nightlily (Daughter, Deceased)
    Kin: Unknown
History(Optional): She was born into ShadowClan to a she-cat named Leafdawn and a tom named Iceshard; she had became a apprentice a the age of 4 moons due to the leader become warped with power. The she-cat had proven tough and powerful as well as sturdy; but she was so different from everybody else. When she was training one day, she had found a loner, little did she knew that this loner was going to become her mate in the future. Through his constant pestering, she soon fell in love with him and overtime convinced him to join ShadowClan as well. Pantherstripe and the newly appointed warrior Thistlefang, they soon had their only kit, Nightlily (Nightit at the time). As she watched her daughter; she was proud and very protective of her kkit, hoping for a bright future for her. Soon, she noticed Nightlily spending a lot of time with Bloodshatter (Oni). She approved of it at first and was overjoyed at the thought of her daughter and Bloodshatter becoming mates; but she still felt uneasy about the tom, something about him wasn't right plus he had brutally killed a lot of cats in battle. But as time continued on, the day that Nightliily's body was found, lying dead in her nest, there was a look of frozen terror on her face but it was clear that she-cat had passed away. Mortified, Thistlefang had tried tracking down Bloodshatter, but to no avail; she couldn't find him until moons later as she quit ShadowClan after her mate diied, she came across Oni and the empire which she joined but with much reluctance and her hatred for the emperpor.

Oni was remaining within the temple when he heard paw steps. He looked up and laughed bitterly, "Ah, Thistlefang, what do you want now? Blaming me for your daughter's death again?" The old black she-cat wheezed, "I should again because it certainly was your fault you fool!" Oni flicked his ear as he straightened up, his face still hidden within the darkness of the temple, "So what do you want then?" Thistlefang sat, her green eyes piercing still at this age, "I was going to ask if you were going to tell your mate about the situation about the curse?" Oni's fur bristled, "You old bat! You know I wouldn't tell anyone! You better keep your mouth shut! Besides..." Oni's eyes lowered to the ground, "I swore to myself I'll never take a mate again, I don't want to pass this curse onto the next generation... you know that more than anyone." Thistlefang bared her cracked yellow teeth at him, "Yet you didn't tell Nightlily either! That's what got her killed! Ignorance!" Oni shouted back, "What else do you possibly want me to do!" His claws unsheathed, he was standing, his fur bristled even more than before. Thistlefang narrowed her eyes, "You killed my daughter. The least you can do is prevent that from happening again to someone else you care for. To me it seems that fate is giving you a second chance at happiness."
Oni turned away from her, his eyes lowered to the ground, "Fate has forsakened me since the day I was born.. I have no happiness anymore.. it died with Nightlily..." Thistlefang muttered, "Idiot." The old she-cat stood and began to pad out, then she paused and said, "If you don't tell her, I will. Besides, you hurt her back there." Oni said darkly, "Leave. Now..." Thistlefang flicked her tail and padded off.

Thistlefang muttered to herself, "Senseless tom; he was fortunate enough for fate to gift him with an oppertunity of happiness and what does he do? Waste it away like it was nothing! Forfiietted everything! Well, if he doesn't tell her then I will!" The old she-cat glanced around with suspicionof anyone listening to her ranting. There was none in sight. "Humph.." She looked around, her broad head whipping from side to side, "Now, where did she go...?" Thistlefang placed her nose close to the ground, her body rocking forward slowly forward, her tail flicked back and forth as she continued trying to find the scent. She muttered, "Clever one is she?" Her pale green eyes flickered around as she continued moving forward, soon she reached the wall, sniffing around it, she caught the scent again muttering again, "Reminds me of my daughter.. sneaking around the camp.."
Going out into the snow, she fluffed out her thick fur as she attempted to see the tracks, she scowled as she said to herself, "My eyesight isn't as good as it used to..." The old cat continued her way through the snow, eventually coming across where the scent was the strongest, "Aha, found you..." She shivered as she moved around the rock, attempting to see, but to no avail, deciding to go with her nose, she wiggled into the space and her green eyes flickered around, finally settling on Yuki, she spat as usual in her tone, "Do you know the trouble I had to go through looking for you?!,

Thistlefang bared her cracked teeth in anger, "Listen," She hobbled over to Yuki, her eyes narrowed in indignace as she fixed her empress with a stone cold glare, not seeming to cower away, nor easing up on her, "I came out of my own will!" She huffed, "Now smooth down your ruffled fur! I know you want to help Oni, though I don't know why anyone would help that mouse-brained fool!" Thistlefang grunted as she shifted her weight, "If you want to help Oni, I can at least tell you some information about him, I don't know his whole past entirely but the best way to know his troubles is from his past. If ou want to help him, I'll tell you; if not then I'll leave you out here and you'll never know." She sniffed indignantly, the pround old cat still had her wide set eyes on Yuki, the intesity of her glare was alost overwhelming.
